Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tree of Hope Counseling similar to an outpatient clinic found in our community?
There are similarities and differences. Similar to an outpatient clinic, Tree of Hope Counseling has an interdisciplinary team of multiple providers offering various specialties that collaborate to provide support and consultation within the group. The biggest difference from an outpatient clinic is that every provider with Tree of Hope Counseling maintains their own independent practice while being affiliated with a group practice. This means each provider has specialized expertise, and can customize treatment for their patients without waiting lists, receptionists, or crowded waiting rooms.
How will I be matched with a provider?
Tree of Hope Counseling has a comprehensive screening form located on the Contact Us tab, which collects all of the necessary information to determine if we have a provider match within our group.. We will respond to screening form inquiries within one week to either connect to one of our providers or recommend other resources in our community. Patients and referral sources can review the provider profiles and request a potential match to be considered.
If more than one service is needed by my family (individual, couples, group, family counseling, psychiatry), can I utilize more than one Tree of Hope Counseling provider/service?
Yes, and providers will collaborate on behalf of your family. Tree of Hope Counseling commits to serving your family with a team approach, whether that means multiple providers offering support, or one therapist utilizing the team for consultation and supervision. If your family needs a service not available within Tree of Hope, we will facilitate connecting you to other resources.
Does Tree of Hope Counseling accept my insurance? How do I pay for services?
Each Tree of Hope Counseling provider is required by insurance companies to panel as individual providers, which means each therapist's ability to bill insurance companies directly varies. Providers are subject to the requirements and needs of insurance companies in this area, and some insurance companies are not accepting new providers. Some providers are able to bill directly to Excellus, Fidelis, Cigna, Medicare, and Aetna. Other therapists are considered out-of-network providers for some insurances, which means that a fee is partially or fully reimbursable to the patient with the submission of a receipt which we provide with all necessary information. Once out-of-network deductibles are met, some insurance companies allow the provider to bill out-of-network coverage to be reimbursed directly. All providers determine their own private pay rate, which varies across providers within Tree of Hope Counseling, and some are able to offer a sliding scale. FSA/HSA, Check, Cash, Major Credit Cards accepted.
Does Tree of Hope Counseling offer a sliding fee scale or pro bono sessions?
Each provider determines if they can offer reduced fee sessions or pro bono sessions as part of their practice.. Therefore, these offerings vary across the group. If in need of reduced fee or pro bono consideration, please indicate when filling out our screening form.
Does Tree of Hope Counseling offer services other than therapy?
